What?

A munch is a casual meeting and lunch event. The purpose of the munch is to meet other people and have interesting discussions in a friendly, public, and safe environment.

Who?

In short, everyone is invited! Wether you’ve been been a Little/AB/DL for a while or you’re curious about it, we would like to see you there. You’ll be able to find people who will be more than glad to answer to your questions and have discussions with.

Also, this is a bilingual event so you’re welcome whether you speak English, French, or both!

When?

The munch will be held on Sunday the 26th of May 2013 and will start at 2PM.

We’re also hoping to continue holding these on every last Sunday of the month, so keep the date in mind!

Where?

At Les 3 Brasseurs on the corner of Crescent and Sainte-Catherine. It is easily accessible by metro (stations PeelGuy Concordia, and Lucien-L’allier are nearby) and car (there should be ample parking nearby on a Sunday afternoon).

We will be located on the first floor in the room to the left, near the end of the bar. It should be easy to spot us:
- Our table will have Elmo, Rainbow Dash, and other plushies!
- wittlePaul will be wearing an red Elmo t-shirt

Important!

The Montreal Little events are non-pickup and non-sexual in nature. This isn’t a place for finding “play partners” or hoping to “get some”. Our events are for socializing and perhaps making friends :-)

This even is held in a public place, so make sure that you wear regular street clothes.

Anything else?

No RSVP is required, but feel free to confirm your presence through FetLife!

If you have any questions, please feel free to post in either the Montreal Littles and Ageplayers group or message one of the group leaders directly!

See you there :-)

Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony (Movie Screening)

Location:
Foonzo

1245 Drummond Street, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.   @ map

Cost: Minimum one drink (or something to eat) to cover the location and employee.
Dress code: Normal clothing. This is a public place.

The Montreal Littles and Ageplayers Group in collaboration with Foonzo and MyLittleLily.net presents the first and only (to our knowledge) screening of the fantastic documentary on the uprising phenomenon, the Bronies.

Schedule:

  • 6PM: People arrive and play videogames while the organizers setup the movie.
  • 7PM: Movie starts
  • 9PMish: Movie ends, people play videogames and chat.
  • 10PM: Last call!

Movie synopsis (from BronyDoc.com):

One would be hard-pressed to find a cultural sensation as unique and as unexpected as Bronies. Why are these grown men and women attracted to a cartoon intended for little girls? And why are they willing to brave society’s ridicule for their love of the show?

Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony is a feature length documentary film that explores the cultural phenomenon of Bronies. The film chronicles Bronies from around the world, each with their unique story, as they make their way to My Little Pony conventions in Germany, England, and the biggest of all, BronyCon in the USA.

This documentary discovers that the essential story elements of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic – Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty and Magic – have a universality that extends beyond age and gender, and that Bronies are pushing the boundaries of what society deems appropriate in their quest for a kinder, gentler future.

In early 2012, John de Lancie discovered that he had been flooded with hundreds of e-mails almost overnight for his portrayal of the mischevious villain Discord in Friendship is Magic. Oddly enough, all of the mail seemed to be coming from adults! This was when he discovered Bronies for the first time, and the concept of such a unique demographic forming around a TV show fascinated him to no end. As the fandom grew, so did his curiosity. Seeking to learn more about this phenomenon, he joined forces with producer Michael Brockhoff to create a documentary, and in the process answer essential questions about the Bronies: who they were, where they came from, and what they aimed to do.

With show creator Lauren Faust and voice actor Tara Strong onboard, they raised support on crowdfunding site Kickstarter and became the second most funded documentary project in the site’s history.
